Solid Hatch Stepping on my linework

What I'm going for is a filled shape of color BEHIND some text and linework.
IE: A red circle with a white/black triangle ontop of it and the word POINT
in white/black ontop of it.
When I use the "solid" hatch, it takes precidence over any other linework
when printing (even if the linework displays ontop of the hatch in
paperspace view)
All of my objects are in paperspace.
I want to avoid "islanding" my text and linework.

Any ideas?
