I am trying to have some text print bolder than others. I have done this
in the past by making the line weight a higher number. Is there an
easier way of doing this. I am trying to draw as built sewer drawings
and want the lot numbers, lines, road names, etc. not show up as bold as
the sewer text and lines, etc. I created a layer just for manhole text
and cannot for the life of me get it to print bold. I just don't know
what I am missing.

Do you use "color dependent plot styles" or "named plot styles"

If the former, then set up your CTB file so that certain colors have a
"thicker pen" than others. Then assign the applicable colors to your layers.
