point attribute font style default change?

Postby paul » Fri Mar 04, 2011 3:08 pm

is there a way to set up my drawing defaults to display point attribute text in alternate font styles and line weights?

I see I can modify individual lines of text one line at a time using AutoCAD commands,
or explode Carlson point text to modify groups of text as regular text,
but neither of those options appeal to me.

edit: I am using AutoCAD 2007 with Carlson Survey 2007

Are you wanting to change the font and/or color of the Carlson point blocks so that the pt. number, elev. and description come in at different styles and fonts?

yes exactly,

I think I may have solved it,
I can do all that using basic AutoCAD commands, ie; Modify/Object/Attribute/Block Attribute Manager
and Format/Text Style
and all other basic settings units, dimension etc.
and save as a .dwt

new drawings started with that template will be configured as desired

for existing drawings just need to use the same commands to modify all point attributes.

I do see though when modified any point data that was moved with leader returned to default location and left the leaders where they were

Those point blocks are created by a set of drawing blocks, SVPN01.dwg, SVPNO2.dwg, etc. Tou can find ythose dwg files in the SupTemplate subfolder under your Carlso files under Program Files. You can edit each individual file to suit your needs there.
