Stone Wall linetype

Postby Neil » Tue May 16, 2006 5:24 am

Here in the northeast I need to draw many stonewalls along property lines.
The "rock wall" line type in Carlson leaves a lot to be desired. It cuts
off the "rocks" in the middle, does not fit meandering lines well and just
looks tacky and unprofessional. In the past I have used a lisp routine
that works very well BUT this option is akwardly missing in Carlson.
Has anyone figured out a way to draw a good stonewall in Survey 2006?
Thanks, Neil

Neil,
I'm not sure what you want a rock wall to look like, but you can define
custom linetypes (by hand) in the Star.lin (CS2004) file. Or you can do
like I did and just made a custom.lin file with a few custom linetypes
that you need. I was in the same situation as you needing fenceline, and
siltfence linetypes.
If you want to see my custom file, just let me know and I can email it
to you.

There's something not right going on with your program then.

I have CS2004, and I always use the Polyline to Special line routine to
create stonewalls on my plans.

The only thing that I noticed is that the stones are kind of small - so for
a 1"=40' plan, I usually set my drawing scale to 60 before I make the
stonewalls.
