Importing txt file problem

Postby mcneillbw » Thu May 26, 2011 7:42 pm

Hello Folks, I am a new user of Carlson coming from 10 years of Land Desk Top LDD CAD so pardon my ignorance. I'm having proplems importing points. We use Trimble equipment so I am trying to find a file format to convert to that imports easily. When I convert to a .txt file of
PXYZD this is what I see.

Error: pt# 768,167251.516,1774499.013,1028.411,CL invalid for current CRD
format of numeric only point numbers.
Error: aborting

Here is what my coord file looks like.

476,1774521.3731,167461.7943,996.2500,CL PIER 4
477,1774521.5973,167481.7931,996.2500,20 CL PIER 3
478,1774521.6533,167486.7927,996.2500,25 CL PIER 3
479,1774521.0929,167436.7959,996.2500,25 CL PIER 3

Our extention is .GPS so I always convert to .txt or .CSV for LDD.

Is there a way to grab a boat load of points and convert them to .CRD?
I think its looking CRD before I try to bring it in to a drawing.
My webinar on points did not hit what my problem is.

I am using Carlson 2011 Survey Embedded CAD

Thanks

This looks very much like a tds coordinate format, a .cr5 file. You can select the tds format in the pull down menu.
