Hello,

I trying to use best fit of circles to find my 3D measured points which is on the Z/Y Plane. will that be possible in carlson survey 2011 under COGO --> Best fit Circle??

I have try the best fit circle function, but the result of given to me is in Y/X plane. However, i need the circle to appear in the Z/Y Plane. Can anyone advise me if there is any other features can solve my situation. Thanks in advance..

Have you tried the 3D option for the best fit circle? The help file says the 3D option will fit a circle lying in a best-fit plane then create and create a 3D polyline in WCS approximating the circle.

If that did not work for you then perhaps consider creating a temporary CRD file with the points for the circle and swap the X and Z coordinates. Use the built-in 2D circle fit to get the solution and then draw it manually or rotate CAD element.
