DEED REPORT AREA PROBLEM

Postby Forrest SeGuin » Wed Aug 17, 2011 1:23 pm

Hi,

My deed reports are printing out my areas in S.M. units, for example 123.456 S.M.

Can anyone direct me to a setting or advice how to correct this it's happened before and stopped doing it.

I'm using CS 2011 stand alone AutoCAD.

Thank you

Area print out problem

I have them set and it still prints the area as 123.456 s.m.

Thanks

Let me get this straight now. You went to the SURVEY pulldown, selected LEGAL DESCRIPTION WRITER and then you clicked on the AREA radio button, you then put "1" in the box next to ACRES and set the number of decimal places. Then you put a number 2 in the box that says SQUARE FEET, set the number of decimal places and deleted all other numbers in the order boxes and it still reports s.m.?
The new settings should stay set for all future drawings, so create a new drawing under a new project. Draw a closed polygon and try the routine again. Does it do the same in the new drawing. (Sometimes you have to do a "hard boot' by creating a new environment before the new settings will work.)
If all else fails you can download the latest build from this web site. Don't worry, it will NOT overwrite any of your custom stuff. (I thought it would too until I HAD to do it and everything went smooth as silk. Did not have to reregister or anything.)

Interesting.
Now go back to the area settings and look at the square feet settings. You do have it labeld #2, or whatever and to the right where it says "suffix" in that box it says "Square Feet" or , at least "Sq. Ft." ?
Under prefix or suffix listings, does it say sm anywhere? If so, is there a number in the order box? If so, delete it.

Postby Forrest SeGuin » Thu Aug 18, 2011 5:28 pm

I just restarted the program and reran the deed files and they now print out in the correct units.

I will have to try and retart the program more often.

thanks for your time,

Forrest
