Wish List Item - Lock Points

I would like to be able to lock points down so that they could
not be manipulated by accident. So that if you are working on a
layout that has 150 parcels along each side of a road that you
have input the deeds for. The crew goes out ties in using GPS
and locates the corners on six or seven properties at major
intersections. Then the deed information needs to be translated
and rotated to match. I would love to have all my GPS and field
location points locked so that I do not accidentally move them
along with my deed work. Yes I know that if the points are
grouped together then I can use number ranges, but being able to
do a limits(crossing window) selection without having to worry
about picking up points I do not want to move would speed up the
workflow. It would also keep someone in training from messing up
important information while they are learning.

Also is there any where to see what is already on a wish list?

I would like to add to your wish list and I am sure others would.
I would agree with the your request. It is the great risk with computer
technology. You can undo hours of work with the simplest click of the
button. Systems to assist in the prevention of human error are always
welcome. A flag for the locking of points in the crd file would be great.

My additions to your list are;

Survey 2006
1. The option to interpolate along along a line with varying distances.
ie segmenting a line with a sequence like 10,20,10,50 etc... currently I
can only divide with the same interger distance or divide a line by an
interger.
2. edit contours by modifying triangles and then updating contours
3. More certainty and/or better documentation on how the
align,translate, rotate work.

Roads 2006
1. Better control in the construction of cross sections and profiles
for plotting. The design box information currently formats in one style
only. It may be the only format used in all of the US, but for us
outside the US borders, here there are many other ways of setting out
this information. Currently, to change the format of a plotted sections
takes hours of unnecessary manual editing.
