i am looking for a way to create an inverse report; this will give me the bearing and distance of each line in a lot and and a closure

Try the "Map Check" routine under the Survey pull-down.

got MC you have to actually have points to do this i was trying to do it with just line segments :)

Survey/Polyline Tools/Polyline Report

This tool has options that can be accessed the commandline that allows you to use the report formatter.

thanks for the info
the Survey/Polyline Tools/Polyline Report only works if the polyline is closed

the Points>Resize Point Attributes did not work for me on this particular problem as i cant even see the node/point

if you inverse to the point the line snapped to and it is in the points list but you cant really see it and you cant select it it is almost like a phantom element

Working for a survey company, I prepare tons of legals and check property closure constantly. The best solution that we have found to do this is the software at this link:

You use the Carlson deed writer to prepare a text file and then run it through Deed Plotter. Gives you a nifty sketchh, lists all the calls and gives you a closure report, all on one document. This allows you to save a print or a pdf for each lot or parcel. Best CYA system I have found yet.

You could try the Lot Manager. it will create lots and points from Lines. There are many options for reports
