Command Line Prompt and OSNAP menu bar ???

Postby David R. Gallimore » Sat Apr 19, 2003 10:30 pm

Carlson,

I was working on a survey today and I moved my OSNAP menu bar down
toward the bottom of the screen and some how it has disappeared
completely. I go to settings and try to get it back up on the screen
and it will not put it in view. How can I get this back? Also my
command line prompt disappeared to while I was trying to get the SNAP
menu to come back. How can I get these commands back? I have rebooted
the computer and everything I know to do. Can't use SNAP or command
line prompt? PLEASE HELP !!!

Thanks,
David

Do you mean the OSNAP toolbar? If so, then it was probably moved so far that you cannot retrieve it now. I don't have the procedure in front of me, but do a google search for this problem - there is a way to go into the registry and reset the coordinates of the toolbar. This is a function of the CAD engine, not Carlson. You may just try uninstalling and reinstalling also.

As for the command line, did you undock it and drag it off the screen also? Or do you just not have a prompt to work from? If the entire command window is missing, then it's the same procedure as above, otherwise, reply with more details.

Command: -TOOLBAR (note the leading hyphen)
Enter toolbar name or [ALL]: "object snap" (note the use of quotes and a space. The name of the toolbar goes in the quotes, which this is the one you're looking for)
Enter an option [Show/Hide/Left/Right/Top/Bottom/Float] <Show>: F
Enter new position (screen coordinates) <0,0>: 200,200
Enter number of rows for toolbar <1>:

As far as the command line goes, try going into preferences, display tab, then changing the number of text lines in the command window to a larger number (20?) so that it will enlarge the window size onto the screen.
If it's in there, it'll be there... dock it.

Let me know if this helps

Jason,

What you wrote may work, but I had already found them. They was
both hidden under the window and you had to move the window up in just
the right place to retrieve them. It's just like Microstation when you
lose a tool bar by docking it. It's always up under the screen
somewhere, but you just have to pick it up in the right place to find
it.

Thanks,
David R. Gallimore, PLS
