Text & Properties Edit

Just upgraded from CS2006 to CS2007 standalone and cannot find the setting
so when I double click an entity the Properties display shows up or when I
double click text, an edit text box appears. Currently I must select the
entity then open the properties box to edit.
Apparently it was automatic in 2006 because I never had to change any
settings to accomplish these tasks prior to 2007.
Is anyone else having this problem?
