Import ASCII Benchmark files

Postby bunst » Fri Feb 09, 2007 6:13 pm

In the Import ASCII point routine there is apparently the ability to
import Benchmark (old DOS program)coordinate files (.dat). I have the
occasional need to access and import my old Benchmark files, but I can't
get the Carlson command to work. I realize that I could also convert the
Benchmark files to ASCII file through the Benchmark program and then
import into Carlson, but that is cumbersome. Has anyone had success
importing Benchmark files? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Here is an option for you. On the Carlson Software webpage under support -
other downloads - batchcon.exe. This is a standalone program that allows
you to convert other point files to SurvCADD .CRD format. Supported file
formats for conversion include: Surveyor One, Benchmark, Kentucky COGO
(.COO), MinePro(.LUP), and TDS (.CR5). Try this free download and see if
it satisfies your needs.
