draw endpoint leaders

Does anyone know of a workaround to change the standard carlson leaders drawn in this command to something else like an autocad leader or a block? The standard leader is an annoying grouped object that does not terminate on the endpoints of the line.

This command doesn't appear to align the block with the pline and it only seems to work on polylines not lines
