If you already have contours, then try this. Under "Surface>
Triangulate&Contour...", choose "Write Triangulation File" (and give it
a file name and location with Browse...
Under the Contour tab, uncheck Draw Contours (since you already have
them), and under Selection tab, choose 2D Polylines (i.e. contour
lines), maybe Spot and 3D Polylines if you have any. I have also done
this by selecting 3D Faces also and selecting the previously created 3D
faces on the surface.
Of course, if you are creating a topo for the first time, then proceed
as usual, and just check the additional Write Triangulation File box.
This will produce a .flt file.

if i choose from screen i get the following error message
"Export From Triangulation File or Screen Triangles [<File>/Screen]? s
Initializing VBA System...
Macro not found."
and if i say by file it asks for a flt or tin file. i have only xyz and
carlson grid files. (created grid files from survey points)
so I guess the main question is how convert form grd to tin or flt?
