Symbol Library- Preview Pane

Using Carlson Survey 2004:
Newly created symbols are not appearing in the Preview Pane.

Tools> Edit Symbol Library>
Select a catagory and pick objects.

New symbols can be inserted but the preview no workie.
Maybe if I Export Symbol Libray and Import the same...? Other clues?

In order to add new symbols to the Symbols Library they must be imported.
To do this go to the "Settings" pull down and click on "Edit Symbols
Library"
choose/create a symbol catigory and select "Import Symbols".
