TDS to CarlsonCES

Good Day,

Allow me to explain our problem. Our Surveying office uses HP48,TDS
SurveyPro, and TDS Recon SurveyProCE, Data Collectors in the field.
In the office we use, CarlsonCES, and CarlsonXML, to download collectors
and draw mortgage surveys. The Hp 48 Downloads like a charm. We are not
absolutely shure about proper procedure to download the Recon. At times I've
been able to cause the RECON download to work like a charm. Following is the
procedure I use:
1) After migrating TDS .RAW files to a PC desktop folder via Microsoft
Active Sync.
2) I, open the (TDS .RAW Survey Pro CE) file with, Microsoft Word Pad,
observe it, and promptly save it with the Extension (*file name).RW5
3) Working in Carlson CES or Carlson XML I access the TOOLS Pulldown to
EDIT and PROCESS RAW DATA FILES follow the instructions to browse to the
newly created .RW5 file open it as an existing file, agree to create a
Carlson .CRD file in the Carlson Data Folder the .CRD is created. I verify
the .CRD by opening it under POINTS set CRD file.
4) I then recall the .RW5 using TOOLS - Edit and Process Raw
Data, -Process No Adjust.
5) Save the .RW5 to Carlson Data Folder.

The above Procedure works on several occasions. BUT not always. What am I
doing WRONG?
