2024 contouring issues

something seems to have changed in the new version of contouring in the 2024 upgrade. I have two issues:
1. every contour interval is created on it's own layer. any fixes for this?
2. I try to display the contours with a dashed linetype but they continue to show as solid. yes, I have changed the LTS.
