Cad / Carlson Crashing at 32GB Memory Load

Postby lostabit » Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:48 pm

Is there a software limitation of the Carlson Software at 32GB? We have a 241Mb .dwg file. To start working with the file the first 2 operations we need to run are "Shrink Wrap" then "Triangulate and Contour" The "Shrink Wrap" process completes in 33 minutes and runs a memory load of 12Gb. The second operation "Triangulate and Contour" runs for 3 hours and runs the memory load up to 32Gb then crashes. Initially we had 32Gb of ran and received an "Out of Disk" error when the 32Gb of ram maxed out. I took the system Ram to 128Gb, and the sofware just chrased at 36000kb memory load. It is a windows 7x64 sp1 system. Xeon 3267 proc. 128gb ram. nvidia quadro k5000 graphics card. Any insight on software settings or hardware tweaks would be appreciated.

Thanks Ryan

Any chance you can create smaller TIN models and stitch them together in Triangulation Utilities?
