Capture Existing Centerline Alignment

I need to re-create an existing alignment. I was given a drawing that has a stationed baseline and no data files. When I select it, the Properties Box calls it an alignment and the alignment has a name. How can I export this Alignment out to a centerline .cl file? I can't recreate it with "Polyline to Centerline File" because it's not a polyline or LWpolyline, since it has already been made into an alignment. I don't want to explode it, it has a lot of curves. Any thoughts??
