Yellow Surfaces in 3d Viewer Window

Every so often when I view my 3d model in the 3d viewer window (command:
cube) the triangles which normally appear as magenta become yellow when I
press the "Draw surfaces" button. This makes it impossible to view busts or
problems with the job. My job basically turns into a bright yellow light
bulb.

Is this something that I can fix? This seems to be a new development since
XML2.
