Locate by Bearing

Hey all We have been using Acad 2007 and Civil Suite 2007 and found a
problem. When we use the "Locate by Bearing" feature it gives a "bad
argument type: numberp: nil :error#0". This is even after you do the
Service pack for 2007. can anyone give any advice of what to do to fix
this!!
