"I would like to have more than 10 possibilities."
First, thank you for posting this information. We use custom srvpno files too and we just copy them into a new install, but a centralized location would be a better solution.
I do wonder why you would need more than 10 versions of the srvpno files? The srvpno file only dictates the position and font of the label. All other variables, layering and prefixes or suffixes, are handled by the field-to-finish (FTF) routine. We actually use only 2 srvpno files.
You mentioned that you want to be able to turn on the point numbers, elevations, and descriptions to suit your needs. We accomplish this through layering. Every FTF generated point is divided into four layers. For instance, traverse is drawn on the traverse layer. The point is divided between traverse, traversePNT, traverseELEV, and traverseDESC using the Separate Attribute Layers option. I can either manually turn off the attributes I do not wish to see or use a filter to turn off all of them at once. Typically we would not show our internal point numbers on a topographic plot so we use a *PNT filter to select all point numbers and turn them off simultaneously.
