Check Point Settings

Postby jmshaw » Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:06 pm

Carlson 2008 (build 070920)

Located under Edit-Process Raw File | Process (Compute Pts) | Process Settings

The check point settings will only work with numeric values and not alphanumeric. Almost all of our traverse is alphanumeric and we prefer it that way. For instance, when occupying a NGS point we always use the PID, therefore the traverse would be named AJ4599.

If we can get this working with alphanumeric codes we will be extremely happy.

We have set the code to TRCHK/ What this does is allows us to use our normal field-to-finish traverse check code (TRCHK) with the comment symbol ( / ) to trigger the check point so that we get the report when processing and it still draws our traverse check symbol from field-to-finish and adds the name as a comment. (i.e. TRCHK/AJ4599)

Unfortunately it will only work if we revise point AJ4599 to 4599 and use the code TRCHK/4599.

Please, please, please fix this as Carlson is an alphanumeric cogo.

Thank you,

Check Point Settings

Hi, although I am sure you have checked this already I should check that you have set your Coordinate File Format to Carlson Alphanumeric, go to Settings|Configure|General Settings and select Carlson Alphanumeric.

If that is already selected I have had a similar problem occur after applying a patch, the fix for this was to download the latest version of Carlson from the web site and do an uninstal then reinstal, the latest version of Carlson, a pain I know but it did work.

Hope this has been of some help
