Couple of newbie questions

My company just received Carlson 2009 survey with IntelliCAD 6 I can not get my .CTB files that I used i autocad to work. Can they? Or do I have to create new pen files?

When in the drawing how do you turn off layers like in autoCAD (lines in that layer do not show)

My back ground is in AutoCAD 2004
