Text editor slow in opening

Postby GPSMAN » Wed Nov 19, 2008 4:11 pm

when double clicking on text for the first time in a dwg, it is VERY slow in opening up the text editor (like 2 minutes)
here is what command is running (c:editpnt_dblclk)

only happens once in each dwg

Slow Text Edit

Postby cujo » Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:44 pm

I have this same issue for Carlson Survey 2008 standalone.

I can't say it is two minutes, but there is a looong pause the first time. I note that the same pause occurs when you select Edit-Text-Edit Text and then select your text. It hangs there like it is loading the routines into memory; only the first time in a drawing ... after that it isn't noticeable.
Take care,

Rich

I have the same "problem" but as with the previous post, it doesn't take anywhere near 2 minutes.

Another thing I have noticed in the multi-line text editor is that the format of the text changes whenever you change the "zoom" option on the top right of the screen. The thing that is most frustrating about this is that none of them agree with what is actually show on the screen... So its a guess as to where you need to add in tabs to make your text line up.

I know it's tough to see but you should get the idea... It's perfectly lined up when zoomed to 200%, all messed up when zoomed to 150%, and you can see what the actual formatting is in the background...

Anyone else see this happening?

In the latest build (081125) the zoom feature doesn't appear to be working. Text scale is stuck on 30% while only the bar scale on the top changes. Anyway we can change this?
