I need to export points in the following format for our GPS unit:

Easting, Northing, "Point number"

I can do this using a multiple step process, which includes using Excel
to
re-column the data and Wordpad to fix quotation marks. Is there a simple
way
for me to get the data in the format that I need?

It would be very helpful to have Importing and Exporting customizable.
Also,
I would like to be able to screen select points as well when exporting
rather than having to know the range of points to write.

In case you missed my reply on 04/17/2001:

Go to List Points, use the Report Formatter, then export only the
desired columns to Excel and save
to an ASCII file.

I did see that. I noticed when I customized the point number to have
quotes
that the output put quotes around all values. There just needs to be
something easier, like the way points are imported (ex. coordinate order
box
E, N, "P").

Jason,

Until there is a better solution, I suggest looking into a text editor
called
Ultraedit. At first glance, it seems like any other test editor. But,
one very
powerful category that makes it stand out is: column mode. One can
select, cut,
paste columns. Fill columns and number columns. This is far different
and
superior(for our use) to columns in word processors. It's well worth
the $30.
I use it A LOT. You have to check it out to really appreciate the
subtle power
of this.
