The only routine that I am aware of is "REMOVE POLYLINE ARCS" in the
pulldown menu under "Edit" -- "Polyline Utilities". It will ask you for
an
"offset cutoff" and the smaller the distance you enter, the more
verticies
will be added.
You would use this routine on an arc or a 2d polyline arc before you
convert
them to a 3d polyline (a 3d polyline cannot exist in arc form but must
be
transformed to a series of chords, hence the more verticies/chords, the
higher the apparent arc resolution).

Thanks, that makes sense. I was thinking it was like the polyline
smoothing or
reduce vertices options.
Is there a way of setting how many vertices are created in routines
which
convert arcs to curves? This would apply in 2d to 3d polys as well as
field to
finish routines.
