area by interior point

how does this work???
i mean.. if i have an enclosure but there is a building inside of it, will
this command work? it dies not seems to.. it seems to just get the area of
the enclosure and not remove the building. the AutoCAD command boundary and
hatch can remove the building.. why not the survcad command area by interior
point??

The Boundary command only creates a closed polyline (or region). It detects the island, but this has no impact on the outer polyline.

If you want the area of an object minus the area of other objects, use the AutoCAD Area command, (with the subcommands Add, Subtract, and Object), then use the Label Last Area command on the Area menu.
