Contour label decimal places?

Postby Geoffrey Leiter » Thu Sep 19, 2002 9:57 pm

Is there a way to control the amount of decimal places for an index contour?
Seems to default to 0 decimal places.

Thanks

As a follow up, I noticed I can set the decimal places when manual labeling
contours command but not when using the triangulate & contour method.

Actually that was what my previous message was referring to, its
Contour>Contour Elevation>Decimals..

What I am referring to is Contour>Triangulate&Contour> Now where do I
tell it the number of decimal places???

Actually it defaults to the same precision as your contour interval. If you contour on a 1 or 5 foot interval, you will get 0 decimal places, contouring on a 0.25 foot interval will get you 2 decimal places.

I will request that a label precision field be added to the Tri/Contour routine.

I Have my contour interval set to 0.01 and it is showing 0 decimal places.

Ok, I opened example1.dwg (comes with SurvCADD), then ran Tri/Contour. Set contour interval to 0.01, turn on Draw Index Contours, it's interval should automatically be set to 0.05. Press OK, and window a portion of the drawing (since the contours will be so dense). I get labels such as 395.04, 395.05, etc.

Using 08/29 build.

You only get whole numbers?

If your using the command CONTOUR ELEVATION LABEL, there is a setting within
the pop up box that controls the decimal precision. Otherwise, it should
work if labeling from the TRIANGULATE & CONTOUR command.
