Why is the CTRL + 1 (opens object properties box) disabled in Survcadd? It
works when I open Autocad menus up, but not with Survcadd's.

Also, when creating points from entities, it always puts an elevation
attribute whether I want it or not. I don't have elevations checked in point
defaults either. I don't typically put elevations on when I know it's going
to be zero.

Probably because that shortcut is missing from the menu.

How do I add it to the menu?

Look in the [***ACCELERATORS] section of the default AutoCAD menu.
