Profiles

Postby Jason Bly » Sat May 10, 2003 6:44 pm

I've created a profile along a proposed centerline of a road, which is no
problem, but is there a way to get a profile at the Building restriction
lines (70' from centerline) of a property based on centerline stationing? I
thought that I could simply offset the centerline 70 feet and create another
profile file, but the stationing does not correspond to centerline
stationing. I assume DOT wants to make sure each lot will have a reasonable
driveway is the reasoning for seeing the BRL profile.

Any ideas on how to achieve my goal of the profile?

In "Profile from Surface Entities", look at the Profile Offsets field. You
can enter "-70 70" to get left and right offsets 70' from the centerline.
You can then store all three profiles in a single .PRO file, or use separate
files.

I am using a GRD file, I guess there's no way to perform the same function
from this other than using the surface entities that I created the GRD file
from.

Use the profile from surface entity and draw in an offset profile of -70, 70
this will give you L&R profiles based on the CL stationing.
