What is Drawing Cleanup?

Postby James Tobbe » Wed Feb 02, 2005 2:39 am

What is Drawing Cleanup? I noticed on my clean install of AutoCad 2005 and
XML2 that there is this command under file called Drawing Cleanup. When I
select this command it says it is not defined. I don't know what it is and
have never seen it so any knowledge is useful.

If you have Map:
Map>Tools>Drawing Cleanup
or type mapclean at command line

The OP said a menu item named "Drawing Cleanup" is on the "File" menu of
a clean install of AutoCAD 2005 and SCAD.

It sounds like he wants to find out what this command is, not find
another similar command.

If these two commands are the same so be it. I just figured Scad would not
put a command under the "File" menu unless everyone would be able to use it.

The drawing cleanup command is similar to the map cleanup command as
assumed. This command contains cleanup tools such as Remove Layers with no
entities; Remove Zero Length linework; join linework with same endpoints,
convert splines, multilines and regions into polylines; convert lines, arce,
circles, ellipses, 3dfaces and solids into polylines; convert ldd-aec
contours into polylines; erase hatch entites; remove arcs from polylines
both 2d and 3d; reduce polyline vertices;set elevations outside range to
zero. It also gives you the option to apply the cleanup options selected to
the entire drawing or a selection set.

The command is working fine here, are you running one of the first beta
copies?

This sounds like the greatest command since Purge!!!
- BUT -
Why don't I have it???
I have ACAD 2002 with SurvCADD XML Release 2
but Drawing Cleanup is NOT in MY file pulldown, nor does my HELP show any
such command.
What's up with that!?!?!?
