Acad Custom Line Q

I am creating a custom line in Acad with a dashed line, and then some
embedded text. Everything works well but it will not let me enter more than
2 dashes at the beginning. If I enter 3 dashes it gives me "Alignment
Error". I have included 2 linetypes below. The first one "8EXSS" works with
3 dashes. Why won't the second one "10EXSS" work with 3 dashes? Ignore the
shape file, it is simply RomanS.

*8EXSS, ---8"SS---8"SS---8"SS---
A,.2,-.2,.2,-.2,.2,-.1,[8N,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-0.23,[APOS1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=0.135],-0.05,[APOS1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=0.135],-0.12,[S1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-.23,[S1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-.3

*10EXSS, ---10"SS---10"SS---10"SS---
A,.2,-.2,.2,-.2,[1N,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-0.17,[0N,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-0.23,[APOS1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=0.135],-0.05,[APOS1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=0.135],-0.12,[S1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-0.23,[S1,HASP.SHX,S=.01,R=0,X=0,Y=-0.065],-.35

The documentation states that "You can enter up to 12 dash-length specifications per linetype"
I'm not sure how either are working. I can't test due to the missing "hasp.shx".
