Autocad closing when "desc" layer is froze

LD2006, running SurvCadd 2006 on XP Pro

Has anybody else had this happen...Freeze the layer "desc" and the drawing
and AutoCad/SurvCad goes away without any warning or errors. It has happened
twice to me now. Very odd.

Not that I would think it is relevant, but the layer I am freezing is
"PNTDESC" created by SurvCadd
Both times AutoCad vanished, it was freezing that same layer.
