Layer and Points

Postby Joe Bishop » Wed Jun 07, 2006 6:17 pm

Hello all:

I hopefully have a very simple question. When I bring in points from my
data collector, they automatically go into the "pnts" layer, which is fine.
Now lets say a year of two later, I have as built points I want to bring in
the job. I want to be able to show both, but have on different layers. So
I locate the points, and put them on "abpnts" layer, which is wonderful.
The problem is this:

The elevations of both are under "pntelev" layer. So if I want to make my
old elevations a different color so they appear lighter in the plot, I
cannot do this as if I change the pntelev color, it changes the abpnts and
the pnts. Is there a solution here? I am sure there is and I just don't
realize how to do it. Thanks in advance for your help.

I knew it was a simple fix and I just didn't know how. Thanks so much for
the response. I really appreciate it.

On "Points Defaults" window set Layer for points abpnts and check on Both
for Separate layers.
