3d polyline question

I am trying to draw a 3d polyline with 2 known end points. The thing is I
need this line to follow my contours (like 3d polyline by slope of
surface).

I would just offset one of the contour line and then run 2d to 3d by
start-end elev

Are you looking for the poly to go perpendicular to the contours? (by slope
of surface)

If so: Hydrology Module->Watershed Menu->Runoff Tracking

If you want it paralell to your contours then just draw it and then edit
the two vertex elevations in the properties dialog. If you want it
perpendicular then then use your osnap setting to draw your line
perpendicular. Convert the 2d polyline to a 3D polyine by surface-
hopefully you already created one when you contoured. Now you have a 3d
polyline that is perpendicular but may need the elevations edited.
