Lot Report to Display Problem

SurveyCivil 2008/Autocad 2005
Shame on you Carlson. You haven't yet fixed the program lock up from
SurveyCivil 2007 when picking "screen" in the Lot Report diag box. We use
this feature daily and cannot be expected to use your current programs when
they don't work. This bug happens no matter what computer I run this on. The
only option is to ctrl-alt-del and close the Autocad session. There are 2
diag boxes on screen that are supposed to "go away" as soon as you click on
"screen". It ain't happening.

workaround:
Lot Report>Display>Save as "LotReport"
Inquiry>Display-Edit File>Select the file "LotReport" and then choose
"Screen"

That's pretty close to the "WORKAROUND" I already figured out. Why use a
workaround though when I already have a Survcadd 2006 that works? We will
wait until the bugs are all worked out. I reported this bug when SurvCivil
2007 first came out. I am very surprised it has not been fixed with a new
release.
Thanks for replying though.

Have you contacted Carlson (1-800-989-5028), because they do not read
these forums very often, if ever.

Yup, newsgroups are usually peer support.

When I email support@carlsonsw.com, I often have a fix within a few days.

OK thanks, I'll do that. Originally I did back when Civil Survey 2007 first
came out. I just figured it would be fixed by now, and I thought I would get
a little peer support.

I hear ya Jack.

I imagine there are quite a few lines of code in this software. Its
probably not difficult for something to get dropped or break when revising
the code. Regardless of the amount of testing, we are likely to stumbe
accross stuff that fell through the cracks. I have found a few things
broken that were fine before.

What I have found is great with Carlson is...they usually DO get fixed. In
my experience, finding a vendor as responsive as Carlson is quite rare these
days.

-don't check on "Use Report Formatter" on the window "Lot Report"
-choose "Screen" when Lot Report is dislpayed
-select your preference in "Report Text Options" window and click OK
-when you see on command line "Start point or Center/Middle/Right/?:" close
the "Lot Manager" window by clicking on the red X
-pick the location of the table
Works for me

Yes Ran, we all know how to do this. I discovered this "workaround" the very
first day I found the glitch, over a year ago. It's my job to find
"workarounds" for the software my company uses, and I'm good at it. That is
not the point. It doesn't work the way it's supposed to, and it needs to be
fixed. Additionally, if I can't use report formatter, then what is the point
of using this routine at all? I'm sure you were just trying to help. I agree
with Terry, that Carlson usually is good at responding to glitches. That's
why I was surprised to see this glitch has survived for more than a year.
They will get it fixed I'm sure. I don't know how we will know when it is
fixed, since Carlson doesn't read forums, according to R.K.

That is only an assumption based on lack of replies from Carlson here.
Maybe they troll here...?
