I noticed that in Carlson /survey/civil 2008 the option to save the generated legal description to MS (microsoft word) diseappeared. It was there in Carlson Survcadd 2006.
Can anybody let me know what happened to it, it was very useful feature to be able to save directly to MS.

Thanks
Pete

Pete,

The programmers advised there was a change in the new software that has prevented them from writing to MS word. Hopefully we can get it working again but for now I was told it was gone.

Considering the current state of word processing I think that it would be wise for Carlson to simply output a text file as they are.

MS Word is in flux and is currently battling against the accepted ISO and IEC International Standard for ODF. With OOXML failing to pass the ISO standards review I would imagine that you will see the Word format being in an unsettled state for the next year or two.
