I have noticed since the last version of Carlson an issue that I just can't figure out.

When I am creating a lot report and export my lot numbers and areas into excel, it shows the area out more decimal places than I have set in Carlson.

For example, I have attached a screen cap.




As you can see for Lot 1, the area within the body of the spread sheet says '10,226'. If you click on the cell, the area that shows up in the formula bar says '10226.3288556706' With this happening with every lot area, the total is 'thrown off'. Versus if you add the whole numbers up as just that, whole numbers.

Does anyone have a work around for this or perhaps a fix.

I suspect that Carlson is exporting the entire real number to the spreadsheet. I wouldn't want it any other way.

You can control the display precision in Excel.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening. Carlson is exporting the 'real number' into Excel. In most cases, this would be a good thing. Perhaps I am not explaining myself well. Below is another example.




In this example, there are 7 lots with a corresponding area. I set Carlson to export the 'whole number' for each lot. As you can see again, Excel is showing the whole number, but in fact the more exact number was exported. When you 'autosum' the 7 lots, an area of 76,784 appears. When in fact, if you physically add these numbers, you get an area of 76,783.

This is my problem. This is easy to check when you only have a few lots, but when you have hundreds of lots, it can be a huge pain.

In Excel it is easy to copy the numbers as values, then sum the numbers and you will get the actual total for the whole numbers in excel.

A bit unrelated, but you mention you are using the latest version and state the build number (which is not the latest build).
