I hope that since Bricscad can be easily bridged from arx to brx that this wll occur soon. The functionality is far beyond the base icad engine. Maybe the next icad will incorporate these features?

Please add my name to the list of users that would like to see the Bricscad version of Intellicad as the Carlson Intellicad Platform!!!! I am currently alternating between Survey Stand Alone 2008 and the latest version of BricsCAD Intellicad effortlessly! :D :D The most annoying is the "not saved by AutoCAD" message from the greedy corporate types of A, (arrogant), CAD.
(Site administrator. Please pass this on to Bruce and Jim Carlson and Dean Goodman)

I have just downloaded Briscad trial version. From my brief investigation it has some nice features which are in Autocad but not in Carlson.

The most important is the Layer manager. Moving in and out of layers is a vital part of using Cad. The very limitedfunctions available in the current Carlson is big draw back. Not being able to select a group with ctrl A or holding the shift key and putting the into group names is a big drawback. Some of these functions are available in Briscad.

The smoothness of the cursor and speed is noticeably different in Briscad.

I understand it is quite a task to modify a whole suite to a new engine. Although there have been and still are lots of bugs I have been very pleased with the efforts to remove the bugs. I have received several patches after the automatic reporting was introduced. I am sure the priority is get the program running without the hangups and crashes. Once that is done I would like to see the Layer Manager enhanced to improve draughting speed.

I am currently managing by using 2009 Survey embedded for most of my core draughting and limiting the use of Intellicad to the clever routines for surface modelling and road design etc.,

Latest patch 081212 appears to have significant improvements.

How do you attach a poll?

Why do a poll on this question, to see if there are quite a few who would like to see you port to Briscad?

Patch I refer to in my Dec15 had to be uninstalled, have received one more patch but still plenty of problems. Lots of my valuable time and effort has been consumed by Intellicad which I suspect has occurred elsewhere. What is the official line on Briscad?

Intellicad Patch

I'm using patch dated 2/10/09.

I got it from

http://update.carlsonsw.com/entov/c2009 ... nstall.exe

Seems to have solved many issues except that its seems that Intellicad ignores lineweights, so all my lines plot as default thin lines.

I have spent SO much time struggling with Intellicad. I would have been money ahead to have just bought a seat of ACAD for $4k.
