Create surface from point group?

Is it possible to create a surface from a point group? Manually excluding points doesn't seem like the most time efficient way of doing this. Also, creating topo point groups then removing all other points messes with my field to finish symbols. Seems like it should be really easy to just select a point group rather than selecting points manually when running triangulate & contour command...
Thanks,

Before triangulate & contour:
Points>Draw_Locate Points>Draw Point Group

Thanks for the reply,
This is the method I have been using but I don't particularly like it. Once I put my points in the drawing I prefer not to touch them. Having to remove all point, insert topo point group, remove all points again and going through field to finish to redraw my symbols is really inefficient. I was just wondering if there was a way within Triangular & contour to simply select what point group to use for the topo without messing with the points already within the drawing. I assuming the answer is no, I haven't been able to figure it out yet anyway.

You can isolate the layer of topo points and then triangulate & contour.

I find nominating points to be non-surface in the field to finish so as to eliminate there use in C&T works well. You can add NOS to the field code as well. Unfortunately, Intellicad does allow separating layers into groups as in Embedded. But this is another useful way of separating the layers you wish to use in C&T.
