Importing points from a .csv file verrrryyyy slowwwwwwww

this is a common problem for me, whenever I try and import points, it takes forever? I have the latest Carlson patches. The .dwg, .crd, and .csv files are all on a drive on our network, not on my harddrive.

I have noticed some of the antivirus security suites cause a significant impact when working with files stored on my file server. I changed from one particular package that was increasing the time required for all file operations to my server by more than an order of magnitude!
