Insert Symbol Size

I dont seem to have any problem making a custom symbol to insert and it
always seems to come in the right size, however the problem is that the
preview icon in the symbol library just appears as a little dot. It's so
small you can hardly see it. But it will come into the drawing the right
size. What am I missing? How do I get the preview picture to be larger
like the regular ones so I can see them?

Open the source drawing file for the symbol located in the support directory and zoom extents - once zoomed save the drawing file this should create a new preview thumbnail.
