Data Collector dosen't transfer to PC

I have recently relocated my computer and now I can't
get the Psion Data Collector to transfer to the PC.
The 9 pin cord is connected to the mouse plug on the PC
and the other end goes to the data collector. I think all the settings are correct on the C&G F4 screen. The data collector used to come on when I plugged the cord into it. Now I have to try a transfer which dosen't work, abort and then when I plug the data collector in it turns on
