bug in selection

Postby Vince Popish » Tue Aug 17, 2004 6:44 pm

If you use node to select a point, it will select the description or the
point number just the same as the point. Point only selects the point, but
node can select the insertion point of the point number or the insertion
point of the description as well as the actual point node.
Thanks,

Set OSNAPNODELEGACY to 1 if you are using AutoCAD 2005. If you are using AutoCAD 2004, you are stuck with this behavior.

Either way, it's not a bug. It's working as designed.

I am using Carlson Survey 2004, and that is an unknown command. Any other
suggestions?

OSNAPNODELEGACY is new to 2005. That is why I said if you are using 2004, you are stuck with this behavior. Thank Autodesk. :)

Sounds very dangerous since I do the vast majority of my drawing with
osnaps. In my book, this alone is a pretty good reason to not upgrade from
Carlson XML to Carlson 2004.

*Running* OSNAPS? That can be risky itself.

As soon as Carlson gets the 2005 OEM upgrade, then the OSNAPNODELEGACY sysvar will be there...

Go to Settings>Point Object Snap On/Off to turn this toggle on.
Turn off OSNAP and it will only snap to the point nodes, as well as give a
readout of point number description and crd file the point resides in.
