I HAVE JUST ABOUT HAD IT

Postby Steve Provenson » Fri Dec 17, 2004 3:37 am

I want to know why in the world this program Survey2004 will not hold my
lineweight settings. I have had this problem for about a year now and quite
frankly I am tired of it.

Every single d@#$%d time I open a drawing I have to go to OPTIONS\USER
PREFERENCES\LINEWEIGHT SETTINGS and reset them to my preferences which just
so happen to be INCHES\DISPLAY LINEWEIGHT\ADJUST MY DISPLAY SCALE

EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I have my template set up correctly. I have a build date of 6-17-04 for the
latest install in futile hopes that this would fix it.

What in the world is it gonna take to solve this?

To make sure I understand: You work in a drawing, save that drawing,
exit that drawing, re-open that same drawing, and the settings are changed?

LWUNITS and LWDEFAULT are saved in the registry (in your profile).
LWDISPLAY is saved in the drawing.

If you do not have write access to the part of the registry that
contains these settings, then no, it won't remember your settings.

I would consider this a machine configuration problem, not a program error.

---------------------------------
LWUNITS is the units choice (in or mm)
LWDEFAULT is the default lineweight
LWDISPLAY is whether or not lineweights are displayed
----------------------------------

Open REGEDIT, navigate to the section where these settings are stored
(for full blown AutoCAD, it's
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R16.1\ACAD-xxx:xxx\Profiles\ProfileName\General
Then open CS, make your changes, close CS.
Press F5 in REGEDIT and see if the settings are updated.

If not, your IT person can fix this for you.

Good Luck
