automating contour elevations

Postby Matthew Timion » Wed Sep 25, 2002 7:08 pm

Hello all,

Is there a way to automatically assign contour elevations, assuming that the
contours are at a constant interval? I'm basically looking for a way to
quicken up the process of making my topo a 3d file.

Thanks in advance!

In DTM & Contour Menu:

CONTOUR --> ASSIGN CONTOUR ELEVATIONS

You may want to look into seeing if the contours in your drawing are not AutoCAD proxy objects that you normally get when the contours were created in LDD or Civil 3D.
If they are then you will get the warning box that you just described.

To fix, convert the contour objects to polylines using:

Surface-->Import/Export Surface-->Convert LDD-AEC Contours

I am running into this same issue. I am running Carlson Survey w/ Intellicad. When I run the command suggested,
Surface-->Import/Export Surface-->Convert LDD-AEC Contours,
a window pops up telling me I need the AEC Object Enabler installed and refers me to Autodesk. However, because I am running Intellicad, I'm not sure any of their downloads are going to help. Any suggestions?
