Coordinate file probs

Postby JOEL MAYO » Thu Dec 19, 2002 1:54 am

I am using SurvCADD 2000 with AutoCAD 2002. I create a coordinate file or
download from a data collector with no problems. but no one else can read
these coordinate files.

if any one can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Can you give us some more information? When you say "no one else can read
these coordinate files", what is actually happening? Are they able to set
the CRD file current? Does list points work but no points show up? Is it a
numeric or alphanumeric CRD file? If numeric, can you open the CRD file with
PointCon? (see http://update.carlsonsw.com/public/pointcon_setup.exe )

When someone else opens a coordinate file generated on my system all they
get is point 1 nothing more. We use a numeric coordinate file, the files
are fine otherwise in that they can be set current just that no-one can read
them. I will try the point con out.

Are you saying that these CRD files can be read on your machine but no other
machine? Or they cannot be read at all on any machine?

The coordinate files can be "Opened" on any machine. The problem is on a,
say, a 500 point coordinate file generated, downloaded, or otherwise
modified by MY machine, I can see all 500 points, any other machine in my
company will only see point 1. they can't update that CRD file from drawing
or anything. I did try the pointcon out, did not read the CRD file. on the
downloaded files I HAVE been converting the CR5 file, on another system, but
this is time consuming and my boss is getting huffy.
