Printing Setting Somewhere?

Postby Jerry Pinta » Fri Feb 27, 2004 2:59 am

Hello,

We have 4 computers with AutoCad 2000i and SurvCad XML2. Two of the
computers plot to the plotter correctly. Our plotter paper size is 36"x48"
roll. When two of the computers plots, it starts the drawing from the top,
plots downwards, then cuts the paper at the end of the drawing, no waste of
paper. The other two computers start the drawing at the bottom of the page,
so the plotter will kick out 2 feet of paper then start plotting the
drawing.
When you view the plot in print preview, 2 of the computers views are on top
of the page and 2 of the computers (the ones wasting a lot of paper)
drawings are at the bottom of the page. I can't find it, but there must be a
setting to let Cad know to put the drawing at the top of the page for
printing. Anyone know where this setting is?

Thanks in advance,
Jerry

What plotter do you have?

If you have an HP plotter like us then:

Printer Properties> "General Tab" >Printing preferences> "Advanced" Tab >
Make sure the auto rotate and inked area boxes are checked.

We have an HP which does run fine. Guess I should have put the plotter in
the first message. The plotter we are having the problem with is Encad
Cadjet 2. I can not find the inked area type toggle in the settings anywhere
for this printer.

Sorry, Don't know anything about Encad plotters. If you don't get any advice
from anyone else, try their website at:
http://www.encad.com/Support/Drivers/index.asp
for the latest AutoCAD 2000i drivers to see if they help. If not, try their
toll-free support number.
Good Luck
