Ray,
"Profile from 2D Polyline", located under "Profile From...." in the Profile
pulldown menu, will convert the plotted profile on the grid to a profile
file. If the plotted profile contains vertical curves, they are most likely
drawn as short tangent segments. Because of this, you won't get true
vertical curve info from the plotted polyline. Be aware that this could
affect slightly the accuracy of the final contours.
In addition to the design profile, you will need, at a minimum, a centerline
file (*.cl), a template file (*.tpl) and an existing section file (*.sct) to
generate and model your final contours. I am assuming you already have
these, but if not, feel free to contact us if you need additional
assistance.
Sincerely,
Lon Watson

I have an existing plan and profile autocad drawing electronically saved as
a *.dwg, meaning I can manipulate the polylines that make the proposed
centerline, existing ground centerline, grid, etc.
Is there any way to create a *.pro file from this drawing so I can
generate road contours using the "Process Road Design Menu"?
I have a cross section template, the proposed road centerline and the
proposed finished grade profile and grid. I wish I could just pick the
proposed centerline, the existing centerline and the grid bottom elevation
and save this as a *.pro file to then generate the proposed contours.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
